Biography

Emily was born in 1857 in Iowa. She was the daughter of Henry Thomas and Louisa Olmstead. She was not listed with her parents in Kansas in 1860. ^[1] In 1870 she was 13 and living in Iowa with her mother 39, b NY, twin brother James 13, b IA, and sister Martha 9, b KS. ^[2] She had one son, Dick Thomas, b 23 Mar 1877, near New Hartford, Butler Co., IA, father unknown (Dick's marriage record says "cannot tell").

At 41 years of age, she married David Cunningham. ^{[3] [4]} They had one known child, Eleanor, in 1899. Emily L. (52) and Eleanor P. (11) were living alone in Hardin Township, Hardin County, Iowa, in 1910. ^[5] Emily passed away in 1914.
