Wedding

MANDER JONES— THOMAS[3]

A wedding of considerable interest was celebrated at All Saints' Cathedral at 7 o'clock on Saturday night when Clarice, second daughter of Mr. James Thomas and the late Mrs. Thomas of 68 Lambert Street, was married to David, eldest son of the late Mr. Llewellyn Mander Jones, and Mrs. Mander Jones, of Boonara Goomeri, Queensland. Very Rev. Dean Holmes officiated, and the cathedral was filled with well-wishers of both the bride and groom.

The bride, who entered the church of the arm of her father, was charmingly gowned in parchment sat-in featuring the moulded bodice glove-fitting sleeves and slim-fitting skirt which fell into fullness from the knees. The long tulle veil was caught with a spray of orange blossoms behind each ear. The bridal bouquet was a beautiful sheaf of parchment hyacinths. The bride was attended by her sisters, Misses Jean and Ivy Thomas, both of whom were prettily attired, the former wearing Crevette Paysan satin and the latter Patau Paysan satin. Their tiny black hats were of transparent silk straw and they carried armlets of pink carnations and blue forget-me-nots. Mr. John Mander Jones, brother of the bridegroom was best man and Mr. Maurice Cunliffe Jones, a friend of the bridegroom, acted as groomsman.

At a reception held at the Chelsea, Mrs. R. H. Ferguson, of Toowoomba (Q.) aunt of the bride, received some 30 guests. She wore a smart frock of nigger brown silk lace, and carried a posy of autumn tinted nasturtiums. Afterwards Mr. and Mrs. Mander Jones left by car on a tour of the North Coast and Queensland, the bride travelling in a grey tailored costume and a set of Stone Marten furs.
