NEWCASTLE WEDDING.
Perram — Thomas.
A pretty wedding took place at the Church of England, Newcastle, the contracting parties being Mr. Jack Rayner, eldest son of Cpl. and Mrs. J. R. Perram, of Hill Street. Molong, to Eve Doreen, youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Thomas, of Mayfield, Newcastle.
The bride was frocked in a smart white tailored costume with matching accessories and a toque wreathed with flowers. She carried a bouquet of white carnations, sweetpeas and lily-of-the-valley.
The matron of honour, sister of the bride, wore a blue frock and carried a bouquet of pink hyacinths and carnations.
A camp mate of the groom's acted as best man.
The usual ceremony took place and, while the contracting parties moved to the vestry, a well-known Newcastle vocalist sang 'Ave Maria.'
The guests were received by Mrs. Thomas at her home, where a very gay reception took place in buffet style.
Later the happy couple left for their honeymoon, which they spent in Sydney.
