Thamson (Thomas) Norman was born on 10 Feb 1854 in Albany, Western Australia, Australia, daughter of William Charles Thomas (1812 - 1867) and Mary (Woodrow) Thomas (1814 - 1895).
The death of Mrs. Thamson Norman, a well-known identity of Albany who lived here until November last year, occurred at Fremantle pn July 18. She was in her 100th year. Her husband predeceased her about 15 years ago. Except for failing eyesight Mrs. Norman enjoyed excellent health and possessed all her faculties up to the time of her death. It is believed that she was the oldest West Australian born woman; she was born at Albany on February 10, 1854. Her father came to Albany from Devonshire about 1835 and was engaged as foreman during the construction of St. John's Church and Rectory. Mrs. Norman was the youngest of 12 children. Her sister the late Mrs. F. Cooper of Mount Barker, was the first white woman born at Albany. Mrs. Norman had eight children, 36 grandchildren, 55 great-granchildren and five great-greatgrandchildren.[3]
