Obituary
JONES, PATRICIA, age 54, of Birmingham, passed away December 18, 2006 at her home after a hard fought struggle with cancer. She surrendered peacefully surrounded by her loving family. "Tongi" will be sorely missed for her beautiful smile, easy laughter and generous spirit that captured countless hearts during her time on this earth. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dora and Buddy Thomas and brother Larry.
She is survived by her husband of 25 years, Leonard, son Ryan, daughter Rachel, sister Dorothy(Carlton) Collins, aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous friends. Patti was passionate about her varied interests including flower gardening, traveling, music and her beloved horses. Jessie, her canine companion was always by her side. Family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to your favorite animal charity. The family would also like to express its thanks to the many nurses and doctors at UAB, Kirkland Clinic and Affinity Hospice that became a part of her extended family. A Chapel Service will be held at Valhalla Funeral Home on Thursday, Dec. 21, 2006 at 10:00 am. Visitation will be Thursday also from 9:00am till 10:00am.
