Marie Alta Shultz

SHULTZ, Marie Alta – Age 83 of Roseburg, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 1997 in a local care center. She was born May 15, 1914 in Harrison, Arkansas to Hayes and Shaby E. (Bowman) Thomason. Marie married Harvey W. Shultz, who preceded her in death in 1984. The Shultz's moved to Oregon in 1944 to ranch on Boomer Hill. During the 1950's, they owned and operated a store in Sutherlin. Mrs. Shultz loved bowling, sewing, painting, and being a homemaker. She had attended the Hucrest Community Church while she was able. Survivors include her daughter Jewell O. Davison and her husband Larry of Roseburg; sisters, Velma Wallis of Arkansas and Helen Kreag of Oklahoma; brothers Bert Thomason and Zemry Thomason of Missouri; granddaughter Kathy Walz and her husband Ken of Roseburg; grandson David Sample and wife Marianne of Reading, Massachusetts; great grandchildren, Michael Lane Tracie Davison, Eric Sample and Stephen Sample;great grandchildren Kira, Levi, Jessica and Michael. Mrs. Shultz was also preceded in death by her sister, Tressie P. Thomason and brothers, Joe Bowman, Arlis Thomason and Acie Thomason. At her request, no services will be held. Private cremation rites have been held. LONG & SHUKLE MEMORIAL CHAPEL is in charge of arrangements.
