Martha was born August 7, 1916 in Astley, Lancashire, England and was baptised there on August 24th at St Stephen's. She was the daughter of Noah Thomason and Mary Haddock.[1][2]

Marriages

Her 1st marriage was to Louis Donald Scott on May 23, 1936 in Spokane, Spokane, Washington, USA. Both of them were residents of Trail, British Columbia, Canada. Witnesses were Margaret Lennon and W. Smith.[6]

The marriage ended in divorce in May 1938, just 3 months after their child was born.

DIVORCE GRANTED TO LOUIS DONALD SCOTT" [7]
"A decree absolute with costs against John Baldrey, Shaver's Bench, Trail, co-respondent, was awarded Louis Donald Scott, 1399 Pine Avenue, Trail, in his petition for dissolution of his marriage to Martha Scott, also of Shaver's Bench.
His lordship provided that until further order the mother should have custody of their child born February 21 this year, with liberty reserved to the petitioner to apply with respect to custody of the child later. The judge order the father should have "reasonable access" giving him liberty to apply should it be impossible to make an arrangement with the child's mother."

Her 2nd marriage was to John Harold Baldrey on August 12, 1938 in Colville, Stevens, Washington, USA. It was her 2nd marriage, she was 22 years old, born England and her parents were Noah and Mary Thomason. John was 24 years old and it was his 1st marriage. Both of them were residents of Trail British Columbia at the time and witnesses were Shirley Fisher and Stewart Grieve. The marriage ended in divorce.[8][9]

Her 3rd marriage was to Howard Vaughn Davis about 1948 and they were the parents of 2 sons. The marriage ended in divorce.[10]

Her 4th marriage was to Charles Severance Bassett - date and place unknown. [10]

Martha died March 7, 1987 in Vancouver, British Columbia and was cremated. Cause of death was lymphocytic lymphoma duration 8 years (preceded by breast cancer).[10]
