Mary was a war bride. She came to the U.S. in 1946 on the HMS Queen Mary. She traveled on the Queen Mary three times. In 1954 they were caught in a terrible storm at sea. When the voyage was over some of the ships crew told Mary that during the storm they expected the ship to break in half at any moment.
