Biography

David Thompson was born in 1748 in Frederick County, Virginia, the only known child of David and Mary Unknown Thompson.

Research Note

Per Wikitree User: This David couldn't have been married to the Elizabeth Btockman attached as his wife, mainly because she was still alive in 1836 when she filed a petition for his pension. There must have been two different David's and two different Elizabeth's ---OR --- this David was only married to Susanna and not an Elizabeth.

Marriages

David married twice:

On 19 August 1784 , when he was in his mid-thirties, he married Elizabeth Brockman in Orange County, Virginia.[1]
On 25 October 1799, when he was in his early fifties, he married Susanna Skelton. She bore him one known child, a son whom they named Isaac.

David Thompson was a revolutionary soldier in Capt. Hogg's company of rangers in 1758, and "served in Col Boquite's company according to Jeff Carr's research of the Orange County court records of Aug. 26, 1779."[2] His war service can be read at Fold3.[3]

In 1830, when he was in his early eighties, he died in Meadow Bluff, Greenbrier County, Virginia, of unknown causes.
