Biography

Minnie Thompson was born on December 25, 1881 in Upper Sackville, New Brunswick.[1] She was the daughter of Robert Thompson and Mary Ann Amos.

Minnie's father died when she was just 5 years old. From the Chigecto Post, January 6, 1887:

On Monday morn., Geo. W. Towse, Aboushagan, was working with his hired man, Robert Thompson, felling trees near his mill. One of the trees they chopped lodged in another one. They struck the latter one two or three blows with an axe, when the tree fell striking Thompson, killing him instantly. Thomspson leaves a wife and three small children.[2]

In 1891, Minnie and her younger brother, Clarence, were living with a Polley family (including mother-in-law Ann Towse. Related to Robert's boss, George Towse?).[3] Minnie's youngest sister, Cora, was living with an Amos family (possible relatives of Mary Ann's?)[4] Whereabouts of Minnie's mother is unknown.

On July 5, 1911, Minnie married Thompson Sears.[5] She died on January 12, 1956 in Sackville.[6]
