John was born in 1775. He was the son of William Thompson and Margaret Mason. He passed away in 1829.
Tony Varey, Tuesday, November 18, 2014.
John died in Liverpool in Dec 1829 having had 7 children.
His migration may have led to his nephew Thomas Dennitts going to Liverpool. That's why there were a lot of Thompson cousins in Liverpool.
And indeed when Thomas died the witnesses to his will were John Thompson (son of this one, born 29 Jan 1804) and Sarah, presumably his wife Sarah (Eyre) whom he married 1834. The will was dated 1852. (Thomas died 1858.)
And at the death of Thomas's son Thomas in 1854 Sarah Thompson of 71 Chester Street Birkenhead was present. The census tells us that Thompson was a firm of funeral furnishers in that road!... (stone masons...)
Hence the close Dennitts-Thompson connection in Liverpool over the years.
