Biography

John was born in 1804. He is the son of John Thompson. ^[1]

John married Mary Ann Taylor on 6 May 1830 in Birkenhead, Cheshire.

They had two children, John (1831) and Jane (1833).

Mary Ann died in 1833, and was buried on 26 Mar 1833 at St Mary's Birkenhead; her age was recorded as 37.

John Thompson and Sarah were witnesses to the will of Thomas Dennitts (b. 1808). The will was dated 1852. (Thomas died 1858.) And at the death of his son Thomas in 1854 Sarah Thompson of 71 Chester Street Birkenhead was present. The census tells us that Thompson was a firm of funeral furnishers in that road!

Hence the close Dennitts-Thompson connection in Liverpool over the years.
