I have been researching for many years, and have had much success, esp. with my Scottish ancestry (I am 5/8 Scottish). Surnames include CAMPBELL, SMART, JARDINE, McDONALD, WINN, JONES, LESLIE. But I have not been able to trace my own surname, THOMPSON, beyond my 3rd gr-grandparents, Wm & Hannah (MONKMAN) Thompson, who appear in York, Co., Ontario, in 1830. I have extensive information about their descendants and am happy to share any data I have.
