DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with John by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with John:
He can't have been the husband of Winifred Brickey if Mary Miller McCraw was still alive... I don't think that the John Gilbert Thompson profile should ever have been linked to Mary Miller McCraw. Perhaps I was wrong to "nuke" it. It just seemed easier than unlinking and creating a new profile, since that one was unsourced to begin with...
Thompson-23823 and Thompson-33902 appear to represent the same person because: These two profiles are lacking resource data but appear to represent the same person. They should be combined into one profile.
Thompson-33902 and Thompson-23823 are not ready to be merged because: It's unclear if he died in Virginia or Illinois. There may be two different John Thompsons combined into one.
