Biography

Elizabeth Thompson was baptized on 15 January 1845 in Notre-Dame, Quebec, Canada.[1] She was born the day before on the 14 January (l'avant vielle). Her godparents were Kiran McLaughlin and Anna Dalton.

Canada Census

1851 - Nine members of the family were enumerated in a two-story stone house in Québec City, Canada East (Québec). [2] There were two other families in the house. One with four members (the McMahon family), the other with two (the Tegan family). Everyone was Roman Catholic. The census form seems to have been completed by one of the residents of the house. It was signed by T. Thompson.

1871 - Eliza (17) was counted as a member of Brigitte Thompson's family in Lévis, Quebec. Lizzie's brother and sister were here as well. Also, Mary Lindzay and her 5 children were counted as part of the family. In this census, they were all Catholic. [3]

After Lengthy Illness, Mrs. Lizzie Thompson Passes to Her Reward - The Funeral Today

Mrs. Lizzie Thompson, a widely-known and beloved lady, and who has scores of friends in the city, expired last night shortly before the hour of 10 o'clock, and the funeral will occur this afternoon at 4 o'clock. Services will be held at St. Michael's church, and the interment will be made at St. Michael's cemetery.
Deceased is survived by a number of relatives in Pensacola. She is the sister of John Thompson, and has numerous other relatives in the city. For many years she has been one of the proprietors of a notion store which until comparatively recent date had been on Palafox street, but which of late had been moved to and doing business on West Romana street.
