Jane Thompson was born about 27 Dec 1737 in Skelton in Cleveland, Yorkshire, England.[1] She was a daughter of John Thompson and Mary Sunley.
John Thomas Carter, born about 1723, was Jane Thompson's first husband.
Jane (Thompson) Carter, her husband, John and their three sons (John, Thomas and Christopher), of Skelton, Yorkshire, settled at Westmoreland Point. Their names do not appear in the surviving passenger lists for the period 1772-1775. This may imply that they were on a ship such as The Duke of York, for which there is no list, or that they arrived before 1772 or after 1775.[2]
Her second husband was William Chapman.
She died April 04, 1813 in Point de Bute, Westmorland , New Brunswick, Canada and is buried in Point de Bute Methodist Cemetery , Point de Bute, Westmorland County, New Brunswick, Canada[1]
