Research Notes

1) Andrew Thompson, "s. of Thomas b. at Kirkfenton, Yorkshire, Eng, 1037; on 9-29-1758, with wf. Elizabeth and sons John and Andrew, removed to Ireland. On 7-11-1664, Andrew m. Isabelle, dau. of Humphrey Marshall, b. in Silby, near Leicestershire. With is wife and three chd., Elizabeth, William, and Andrew, he emigrated to West Jersey 9-16-1677 in ship "Mary" of Dublin, arriving at Elsinboro 12-23-1677[6][7]

2) 1758 must be in error; more likely 1658, early in marriage.

3) Wikitree does not have a profile for John. Are there children from John? As I pondered about this question, I realized that John must have been 10 years old or less in 1664. Thus, he could not have elected to stay behind; he would have been too young. Thus, he must have already died.

4) Profile for Robert, born1673, is listed as uncertain. However, I see that Robert is not noted as being with family above in 1664. It seems likely from this that Robert is attached to wrong father. Or, was he so small of a baby that he was not listed as a separate passenger? Richard Flanagin, 11Nov 2021.

5) Andrew and Mary Sharply, wid. of Adam, pass meeting 30 Mar 1696 (converted from old dating style)[8]. This was about 6 months before Andrew passed away, Richard Flanagin, 2/18/2023.
