William was born in 1862. He was the son of William Thompson. He went by the name of Bill.
He married Laura Britt on on 20 Oct 1887 in Crawford County, Georgia.[1] In 1900, the couple was living in Crawford County, Georgia, and had four children (Andrew, Lillie, Herman, and William) at home.[2]
By 1910, they were living in Spence, Grady County, Georgia, and had 8 children at home (Andrew, Herman, William, Buford, Mary, James, Ruby and Annie).[3] The family was still in Spence in Grady County in 1920. Two more children had been born by then - sons, J C and Warnell.[4]
William passed away in 1922.[5] Burial was in the Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery in Spence, Grady County, Georgia.[6]

Dr. Geoffrey A Thompson has this William associated with the parents, William Thompson and Elizabeth Norwood. However, this couple already has a son named William who was born about 8 months prior to William Alexanderia. Only one William shows up with the family in the 1870 census.
William Alexandria Thompson married Laura Britt. None of their children have any names which are commonly used in William and Elizabeth Thompson's family line (other than William).
Therefore, I do not believe he is William and Elizabeth's son, and will detach him until there is definitive proof.
