Barney R. Thompson, 69, died Wednesday at Plainfield Healthcare Center. He was a resident of Indianapolis.
He was born July 30,1921, in Bowling Green, Ky. His parents were Homer C. Thompson and Ova E. (Sprouse) Thompson. He was married to Heidi (Kaser) Thompson. She survives. Other survivors include a son, Barney T. Thompson of Indianapolis; three daughters, Ann E. Taylor of Indianapolis, Carmen M. Reichard of Plainfield and Darlene K. Paradise of Indianapolis; a sister, Marguerite T. Causey of Las Vegas; six grandchildren; five stepgrand-children; and five stepgreat-grand-children.
He worked for Transcon Trucking for 10 years before retiring in 1981. He was a truck driver.
He belonged to Teamsters Local 135 and Valley Mills Christian Church in Indianapolis.
He was an Army and Navy veteran of World War II.
The Rev. Robert F. Carter will conduct a service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Forest Lawn Wilson-St. Pierre Funeral Home in White River Township. Friends may call from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens. 
He passed away in 1991 and is buried in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens
