Research Notes
Although John Thompson is a common name, these details support his parent connections:
His first son was named John after his father;
His son Septimus was named after his brother who died in 1816; and
His son Thomas bears the middle name Horn, his mother's maiden name.
This John may be confused with John Thompson bp. 1788 in Middleton who married Sarah Tarn - these two couples were having children in Middleton at the same time. Records identify the John who married Sarah Forster as a Miner and the one who married Sarah Tarn as a Joiner.
