Agnes Thompson was born in 1881 at Tamlaght, Drummaul, County Antrim, Ireland. She was the daughter of James Thompson and Sarah McAuley[1].
Agnes Thompson married William James McFadden, a farmer, of Tamlaght, County Antrim on 19 September 1900, at First Ballymena Presbyterian Church, Ballymena, County Antrim[2]. The witnesses were William John McGuigan, Agnes's cousin, and Maggie McFadden, William's sister. Agnes's husband does not appear to be related to her sister Jeanie's husband, Hugh McFadden.
William and Agnes McFadden had seven children: James Kerr McFadden (b. 1901), Alexander McFadden (b. 1902), Mary Taggart McFadden (b. 1904), Sarah McFadden (b. 1906), Jeanie Thompson McFadden (b. 1909), Agnes Margretta McFadden (b. 1911), William Thomas McFadden (b. 1914).
In the 1901 Ireland census, Agnes McFadden was age 20 living at Tamlaght, Dummaul, Co. Antrim with her husband William McFadden (26), their baby son James McFadden, William's parents James Kerr McFadden (82), a farmer, Mary McFadden (66) and William's siblings Hessie McFadden (28) and Sarah McFadden (21), a dressmaker. Also Andrew Hamill (14), farm servant[3].
In the 1911 Ireland census, Agnes McFadden was age 30 living at Tamlaght, Dummaul, Co. Antrim with her husband William James McFadden (37), a farmer, and their children James K McFadden (10), Alexander McFadden (8), Mary Taggart McFadden (6), Sarah McFadden (4) and Jeanie Thompson McFadden (2). Also John Marshal (20) and John Kyle (21), farm servants[4].
Agnes died at Tamlaght, Drummaul, County Antrim in early 1914, shortly after the birth of her seventh child.[5]. She was buried in the McFadden grave at Drummaul Cemetery, Drummaul, County Antrim.
