  • William John Thompson was born in 1885 at Andraid, Drummaul, County Antrim, Ireland. He was the son of James Thompson and Sarah McAuley[1].
  • In the 1901 Ireland census, Wm John Thompson was age 15 living at Andraid, Dummaul, Co. Antrim with his parents James Thompson (46), a farmer, Sarah Thompson (45) and siblings Janie Thompson (17), Robert Thompson (11), James Thompson (9), Thomas Thompson (5) and Wilfred Thompson (1)[2].
  • William John Thompson had left the family farm at Andraid by the time of the 1911 Ireland census. He may be the William John Thompson, born in County Antrim and age 25, working as a Civil Servant and visiting the Adams family in Ballyfatten, County Londonderry[3].
