My favorite sources for finding our Spanish ancestors who came to NM are: Great New Mexico Pedigree Database: By the Hispanic Genealogical Research Center of New Mexico & FamilySearch.
You can create free user profiles on each site and then start using their advanced searches.

Check out the project below: Project: Native Americans and the African-American Project.
Reading your tags and comments I suggest you edit this tag AFRICAN-AMERICAN as in tags we only use an underscore between the words and you could even remove one of the African American tags.

Thank you, David ~ Greeter, Mentor
Welcome to WikiTree! Our common ancestor is Diego de Montoya. The more you dig, I'm sure you'll discover more of our cousins.
I appreciate the compliment about my profile. It takes some work, but after a while you'll catch on. There are many WikiTree sources and people with great help. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to help you.
Have a nice day!

Thank you for self-certifying for the Pre-1700 badge! Participation in a Pre-1700 Project is strongly encouraged for those wishing to edit Pre-1700 profiles. Collaboration is essential because pre-1700 ancestors are shared by many descendants.
It looks like the US History Project would be a good fit with the tag you entered. Adding the tag United_States_History will help you get updates about activity for that project.
Do you have any questions? Let me know. I'm happy to help! :-)

Welcome to wikitree and for reaching out.
When you get closer to finding our connection, or if you need any help researching, please keep me in the loop.
Also, as a newbie, if you ever have a question about anything on the site, let me know if I can be of help.
Have lots of fun searching for ancestors! It is always fun hearing from cousins. And again, thanks for reaching out!

I just saw your message on the 100 Greatest African Americans page. Not sure if someone else has answered your question yet, but if they haven't--I like to copy and paste the link to the Scratch Pad, so when I go to my home page it's just a click away. It would be fantastic if you could add any info on Madam CJ Walker, since she is still unconnected to the Global Tree and her family are mostly unsourced! ~Sarah

PS If you get a "Page Not Found" error when clicking WikiTree email links, you can often find a working version in the public comments on your profile.
PPS Did you discover that the tags on your profile are clickable links to a page of other people who have that tag? You can add more, up to 20 total.
Start with the New Member How-To Pages - they are really useful as you add profiles and learn your way around:
Let me know if you require assistance. I am happy to help. After adding my own family and ancestors I have found many cousins and distant ancestors here on WikiTree.
