Biography
Frank was born in 1873. His parents were Thomas M and Virginia C (Stewart) Thompson. The family was living in Chelsea, Suffolk, Massachusetts in the 1880 census and his siblings were Harry Thompson 14 and Annie W. Thompson 10.
Frank enlisted in the US Marine Corps 10 Sep 1896. He was serving aboard the USS Maine as a Marine Corporal when it was sent to Havana, Cuba in Feb 1898 to help protect American interests there. The ship exploded on 15 Feb 1898 in the harbor of Havana in the USS Maine Disaster. Frank survived the explosion and was honorably discharged in 1901.
On 15 Apr 1899, Frank married Martha L Stankey in Malden, Massachusetts and together they had at least two children, Dorothea Francis and Pauline.
He died in 1927 and is buried at Forest Dale Cemetery, Malden, Massachusetts.
