Sarah Thompson was born on 12 September 1767[1] in Orange County (now Alamance), North Carolina. She was the daughter of James Thompson and Martha Chambers.

She married Owen Lindley Sr. on 14 October 1784 in Snow Camp, Alamance, North Carolina, United States.[2] They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters.

Sarah died on 4 June 1797, in Spring MM, Orange, North Carolina, United States, at the age of 29.[3]
