Biography

Myril Madeline Thomson is born on October 23, 1904, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada [1][2]. Her parents are Oliver Thomson (1867-1942) and Bertha Florence Swallow (1874-1959). In the 1911 census records, Myril is five-years old living with her family in Toronto [3]. And in the 1921 census records, she is 16-years old and still living with her family in the west end of Toronto [4].

Myril dies on February 16, 1940 and is buried in the cemetery of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Scarborough [5]. She is buried with her parents and the stone cutter has shown her birth date as October 23, 1905, rather than 1904.

Household members are labelled “Scotch” and the religion is shown as Presbyterian. Oliver’s occupation is not legible but appears to be something like “Meter Reader” for “Gorg Gas. Co” He makes $750/yr

The address looks like 1980 Queen St. In addition, there is one 35-year-old boarder in the house. Oliver and the 2 children are “Scotch,” and Bertha is English. The family’s religion is Presbyterian. Oliver’s occupation is a merchant. The two children are students.
