Mary Ann Thorne Worden BIRTH 1840 Codys, Queens County, New Brunswick, Canada DEATH 6 Jan 1895 (aged 54–55) Salmon Creek, Queens County, New Brunswick, Canada BURIAL Cody's United Baptist Cemetery Codys, Queens County, New Brunswick, Canada MEMORIAL ID 208840553 · View Source

Saint John The Daily Telegraph January 9, 1895 Johnston (Queens Co.) Jan. 7 -

Yesterday (Sunday 6th), the Baptist meeting house at Salmon Creek was dedicated. Although the day was anything but pleasant the house was filled to its utmost capacity. The sermon was preached by Rev. A. B. McDonald. There was also present Revs. S. D. Ervin, Worden, Coombs and Wiggins. Just as the meeting was closing Mrs. I. A. Worden was taken sick. Her friends helped her to her sled to go home, but she seemed to grow worse so fast that they drove her to Mr. Charles Perry's, where she died in a few hours. Another proof to the living that Life is ever on the wing and Death is ever nigh. When we took the lifeless remains to Mr. Worden's residence on the following day it would be hard to describe the sadness of the grief stricken family from the small child to the grown men and women who has seen their mother's remains brought home in less than 24 hours after she left in her usual health and cheerfulness. Mr. Worden and family need and I trust will have the sympathy of the community in their loneliness which they will feel keenly as Mrs. Worden was a real home body, scarcely ever being absent a single day except occasionally to attend a place of worship.

Saint John The Daily Telegraph January 12, 1895 Johnston (Queens Co.) Jan. 10 - Mary A. Worden w/o Isaac Worden, died of heart failure, 6th inst., age 54 years, left husband and ten children. Seven of the children were present at the funeral; one daughter living in St. John and two sons, who are in Boston, were not present. Sister Worden's health had been failing for some time, but at the day of her death she was up early in the morning making preparations to attend a dedication service of the Baptist Church at Salmon Creek where she was taken ill. They removed her to a private house where she remained for three hours in an unconscious state, then passed peacefully away. Sister Worden was a member of the First F. C. Baptist church, Johnston. The funeral services were held in the Thornetown meeting house.

Saint John The Daily Sun January 17, 1895 - Johnston (Queens Co.) Jan. 14 - The late Mrs. Worden was buried 10th inst. Rev. O.N. Mott, F.C.B. preached the funeral sermon.
