Milton Elias was the tenth and last child born 8 March 1875 in Innisfil Simcoe Ontario to Thomas Thorne and Rachel Banker [1] We next find Milton in 1881 in the household of his father Thomas William"[2]His mother Rachel had passed away of Consumption at Bruce Mines. Milton and Lois Barber were married 23 March 1898 in Indian River Cheboygan Michigan by the Justice of the Peace. [3] In 1900 the couple are residing in the city of Cheboygan, Cheboygan County Michigan and are the proud parents of a son Roy Thorne[4] Sometime before the census of 1911 the family moved to St. Joseph Island where Milton had spent part of his childhood. There is an addition to the family, another son, Wilfred Thorne.[5] In July of 1919 Milton, Lois and an adopted daughter Marion Thorne return to Cheboygan Cheboygan Michigan.[6] In 1920 the family is in Beaugrand Cheboygan Michigan. Milton states his home is owned. He immigrated to the United States from Canada in 1990 and was naturalized in 1901. He is a farmer.[7]  !930 census finds the family in the city of Cheboygan, Cheboygan. Mitlon now has a blacksmith shop. The two sons have left home only leaving Marion still in the household. [8] in the 1940 census Milton and Lois remain in Cheboygan. Milton is listed as Blacksmith The children have all left the home now. [9] 0n 20 July 1951 Milton was called to a farm in Aloha Cheboygan County to shoe a horse.. While engaged in his task he had a massive heart attack and died at the site. He was buried July 24 1951 in Cheboygan Cheboygan Michigan in Pine Hill Cemetery. [10][11]
