Biography
Cpl Charles Thornton served in the United States Civil War. Enlisted: Aug 15, 1862 Mustered out: Jun 11, 1865 Side: USA Regiment(s): 115th Illinois Volunteer Infantry Regiment
Charles was born in 1840 to Charles Taliaferro Thornton and Lucy Burzetta Montague. He served in the Civil War as a private, then corporal, with Co. G, 115th Illinois Infantry. Charles married Susan Frances Burrell when he was 33, and lived in Tennessee, Illinois and Texas. He passed away in 1909 at 68 years old.
