Mary was baptised at St Peter and St Paul, Church Hanborough, Oxfordshire on 7th March 1813.[1] She was the daughter of William Thornton and Elizabeth Woodward.
Marriage
James Buckingham and Mary Thornton were married after banns at St Peter and St Paul, Church Hanborough, Oxfordshire on 14th December 1835.[2] They were bachelor and spinster and both of the parish. Neither could write so they both made their mark on the register with a cross. The witnesses to the marriage were George Thornton and Ann Stiles.
