On 25 July 1797 he married Elizabeth Bacon, the 3rd daughter of Elizabeth Wade and John Bacon the Elder, British sculptor, with issue one son and two daughters.
He died on 5 July 1848. He was buried on 12 July 1848 in Norwood Cemetery, London.
