Biography

Louis/Lewis Albert Thornton was the oldest child of George Mason Dallas Thornton Sr. and Polly Ann Luttrell and was born on 4 May 1872 in Browning, Schuyler County, Illinois.^[1][2][3] Although his death certificate indicates he was born in March 1871, I believe it was actually on 4 May 1872 which is supported by the 1880 Browning, Schuyler County, Illinois census and his obituary.

He married Nora Emeline Robinett on 8 Oct 1897 in Miller County, Missouri, USA.^[3][4] His wife preceded Louis in death on 26 June 1944 and shares a stone. State of Missouri Death Certificate #14257 states he was born on 4 May 1871 in Browning, Illinois and died on 9 Mar 1947; however, the headstone gives the birth date as 4 May 1874 as does the 1900 Miller County, Missouri Census, his obituary states 1872. The 1880 Browning, Schuyler County, Illinois Census shows "Lewis" as 8 years old.

Lewis Albert Thornton died on 9 Mar 1947 in Brumley, Miller County, Missouri and was buried on 10 Mar 1947 in the Robinett Cemetery, Brumley, Miller County, Missouri, USA.^[1][2][3]
