• Sophia was born on the 16th of Jan 1806, and baptised on the 7th of June 1806 at Clapham, Surrey, England.^[1] She was born to the parents of Marianne Sykes and Henry Thornton.^[2]

• Sophia was married on the 23rd of April 1834, to John Thornton Leslie-Melville, 11th Earl of Leven, son of Jane Thornton and Alexander Leslie-Melville, 9th Earl of Leven.^[2] They were married at St. Mary, Battersea, Surrey, England.^[3][4][5]
