Margaret was born in 1916. She was the daughter of Ray Thornton and Marguerite Harrow. She passed away in 1985.
The Nebraska State Journal (Lincoln, Nebraska) 17 June 1945 p 17: Thornton - Spicer. The chapel of Immanual Presbyterian church of Los Angeles was the scene of the wedding of Miss Margaret Jane Thornton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R.B. Thornton of Ulysses, to Lt. (j.g.) Charles Fletcher Spicer. Dr. Paul C. Johnston, formerly of Lincoln, performed the ceremony. Miss Martha Meriweather of Los Angeles attended the bride as maid of honor and William Richie of Los Angeles served as best man. The bride attended Hastings college and the University of Southern California. She taught for a number of years in the Wymore and Kearney public schools. Lieutenant Spicer, son of Mrs. Foreme Spicer of Long Beach, also attended Hastings college and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska. He served 22 months in the Pacific theater. The lieutenant reports for duty at San Francisco July 1.
