Thomas, son of Charles Thoroughman and Sarah Jane Ginn, was born in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania in 1755. He is given the middle initial B in some sources and the middle name Andrew in others. Thomas is believed to have married twice but the dates are not certain. He married Charlotte Randle about 1779 and they had three daughters. It is believed that Charlotte died before his second marriage to Esther Crawford about 1788. Thomas passed away in 1835 in Adams County, Ohio.
In the 1820 census Thomas was in Meigs Township, Adams, Ohio, United States. He is said to have settled in the area of Jacksonville and his first purchase of land was on 25 July 1810, when he purchased 130 acres on Brush Creek from James Spurgeon.[1]
Thomas died on 19 February 1835 and was buried in Beavertown, Montgomery, Ohio, United States.
