Biography

Thomas Thoroton-Hildyard was born in Nottinghamshire, England.

Thomas was born in 1821. He was the son of Thomas Thoroton and Anne Whyte.^[1] He passed away in 1888. ^[2][3]

Thomas was born at Flintham Hall, Nottinghamshire, the Family seat of the Hildyards. His father passed away, in 1830, and estates were managed by his mother, and uncles. Estates in Screeton, Lincolnshire were sold off to cover his father's creditors.^[4]

On his coming of age, in 1842, Thomas married Ann Margaret Rochfort ^[5] the daughter of Colonel John Staunton Rochfort and Mary Burgh They seperated in about 1852^[4] although both still show as married on census returns.

In 1846, he entered politics as a conservative for the Nottingham South constituency. He served 2 terms, February 27, 1846 - July 7, 1852 and June 18, 1866 - November 24, 1885^[6]
