Biography

Eliza was born about 1826. She was the daughter of John Thorpe and Sarah Underwood. ^[1]

Eliza married John Harvey in 1844.^[2]

Research Notes

There were 2 Eliza Thorpes aged 15 in Great Bricett 1841 census (the other girl was baptised 1825 - the daughter of Daniel and Frances).

• 1844 marriage of Eliza Thorpe and John Harvey appears to be correct as her mother Sarah is with them as a 'lodger' in 1861 & 1871 censuses
• Also Eliza (with her father John) is living next door to John Harvey in the 1841 census.

Other Eliza's:

• 1840 marriage - Eliza Thorpe and Thomas Ranson (included here because of noted confusion but married before 1841 census)
• 1843 marriage - Elizabeth Thorpe and William Stockens

Eliza and John appear to have had no children. None appear with them on any census and no probable baptisms can be found in the Great Bricett parish records (via FindMyPast search).
