Hello Lene,

Congratulations on certifying to work on pre-1700 profiles! It’s very important to read and understand the Pre-1700 Profiles page. These profiles for deep ancestors are shared by many, and collaborating on them works best if we all follow the guidelines in the certification quiz.

Primary sources should always be added to pre-1700 profiles at the time they are created. If you don't have a source for a pre-1700 profile, it would be best to ask for help in the G2G forum before creating the profile.

Erin ~ WikiTree Pre-1700 Greeter

Hi Lene,

Thanks for all your work on WikiTree. I noticed that you have been adding profiles for the pre-1700 ancestors you have found in your search. Congratulations on finding records back that far!

Since you are now back in the time period where many people can be descended from those ancestors, we need more details in your source area. As collaborative genealogists, we need to tell each other our sources so that we can work together to assess the relative reliability of the source and the evidence it contains. Before creating pre-1700 profiles, the research must be done to find reliable sources.

Please don't create any more pre-1700 profiles without having a reliable source first.

Thanks,

Debi
