John Threlkeld performed Patriotic Service in Virginia in the American Revolution.

John Threlkeld is a DAR Patriot Ancestor, A115024.

John Threlkeld was the son of Christopher Threlkeld and Sussannah born 1725 in Stafford, Virginia ^[1]

John Threlkeld was too old to serve in the forces for the American Revolution. He did, however, provide material aid to the Continental Army, which makes him a patriot.

He is not to be confused with his younger cousin, John Threlkeld (b. 1742) of Culpeper, Virginia, who did serve in the services and died in 1781 ^[2]The younger cousin, John Threkeld, married and moved to Kentucky^[2]

John Threkeld was a businessman and he sold beef to the Army during the American Revolution. He was listed as a 'Patriot' ^[3] for his duty in the American Revolution. "He was on the pay list of Virginia as having sold 275 lbs of beef on November 19, 1781 in Culpeper, Virginia" ^[2]

He and wife Margaret _____ had several children, including Judith (Threldkeld) Bohun.^[4] The SAR papers show no maiden name for Margaret, who died "after 1797". They were married about 1757 in Virginia. ^[2]
