Job Throckmorton was born on 27 May 1761 in Freehold, Monmouth, New Jersey to parents Job Throckmorton and Mary Morford. He married firstly Mary Robinson on 29 Jul 1784 in Monmouth, New Jersey. Children: Joseph, Job, James Robinson, Eunice, Morford, Eunice, Barnes, Mary, John, Archibald, Eleanor. He died on 5 Apr 1839 in Freehold, New Jersey.

Job Throckmorton enlisted May 27, 1777, as a private, Captain Hendrick Smock's Company, First Reg., Monmouth Co., N.J. Militia, Col. Asher Holmes, and served every alternate month in 1777; six months in 1778; six months in 1779; six months in 1780, and six months in 1781, --during the Rev. War."
