The will of Thomas Throope of Bristol, yeoman, is dated the last day of October 1770, and was proved 5 August 1771.[2] It names:
- eldest son Billings Throope
- wife Elizabeth (named exectutrix)
- sons William Throope, Samuel Throope, Thomas Throope, George Throope, and Benjamin Throope, the last three under 21 years old
- daughters Hannah Waldron, Mary Peck, and Elizabeth Richmond
- daughter Sarah, who has always lived with Thomas and is "somewhat weakly"
- daughters Esther, Lydia, Susanna, and Abigail, the last three under 18 years old
- sister Mercy Reynolds
