Biography

Emanuel was born about 1802; the inscription on his gravestone says he was in his 58th year when he died in 1861. He lived in Keighley and the surrounding area for all his life and worked as an ironmonger^[1], farmer^[2] and butcher^[3].

In 1824 Emanuel married Rebecca Stott; they had at least five sons. On 21st January 1836 he married Ann Moore with whom he had another three sons.

Emanuel passed away on 18 October 1861 and is buried at Utley Cemetery, Bradford, Yorkshire in the same grave as his wife, son and daughter-in-law.^[4]
