William was born about 1860. It is interesting to note that while his mother was born as expected in Wisconsin, his father had been born in Michigan. (1910 census)
Occupation
He is referred to as "Doctor Bill Thunder" (Wisc. Hist. Soc.), which implies that he was a medicine man. (1910 census)

He had the following children with wife Mary (1910 census):
