Biography

  • Fact: Residence (1920) Ash Hill, Butler, Missouri, United States

Interesting records

This is another mother/daughter Thurman relationship, however, the mother is much older.

1910
"United States Census, 1910," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MLM3-JZG : accessed 27 January 2018), Annie Thurman in household of Rachel C Thurman, Winona Ward 1, Shannon, Missouri, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 94, sheet 2A, family 22, NARA microfilm publication T624 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1982), roll 824; FHL microfilm 1,374,837.

Anne would be correct age here, and not the same last name as father.

1910
"United States Census, 1910," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:M2YN-3QT : accessed 27 January 2018), Anne M Thurman in household of William Burns, Kansas Ward 12, Jackson, Missouri, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 155, sheet 1B, family 21, NARA microfilm publication T624 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1982), roll 788; FHL microfilm 1,374,801.

Research Notes

I am a very high confidence match to Heacox. 57 centimorgans shared across 3 DNA segments. Heacox and I are predicted to be 4th-6th cousins.

Heacox is grandaughter of Anna.

Family Search LC33-XPW for Anna Thurman stated that the mother was Rachel Ann Thurman 2DXR-NY7.

This raises a warning flag in that the child's surname is the same as the mother's maiden name.

Further research of Rachel shows that:

On the 1900 Census Rachel appears at her parents house with no Anna.
On the 1910 Census Rachel is still living with her father and reports have no children (living or dead)

But, Rachel's gg grandparents Johannes Totherow and Mary Best Hoffman are also my fifth G Grandparents.

There is a possiblity that Rachel was not actually Rachel Thurman, but Rachel Tripp Thurman L7JB-YZB.

  • Fact: Census (1910) Winona Ward 1, Shannon, Missouri, United States
  • Fact: Marital Status Single
