Biography

Phoebe Thurston was born in 1814 in Delaware County, Ohio, the daughter of Daniel Green Thurston (1771-1843) and Francis Fannie Thayer (1779-1860), who married in Ohio and had thirteen children. Phoebe and William K. Thrall were married on 12 January 1831. They had four children. [1]

In 1850, the Thrall family lived in Brown Township, Delaware County, Ohio. All members of the household were born in Ohio. The family included W.K. Thrall, 40, a (wood) joiner; his wife, Phoebe, 36; and their daughter, Octavia B., 9, in school. Living nearby was the family of Norton Thurston, 33, a farmer (wife, Rebecca, 29; three children, and one other). NOTE: Norton Thurston was the brother of Phoebe (Thurston) Thrall. [2]

In 1860, they lived in Brown Township, Ohio. William Thrall, 50, was a mechanic, who had $1500 in real estate and the same amount in personal estate. His wife, Phoebe, was 47. Their daughter, Octavia, was 19 years old. [3]

In 1870, the Thralls lived in Brown Township, Ohio. Their real estate value was $2400, and their personal estate was $357. William Thrall, 61, was a carpenter. His wife, Phoebe, was 57. [4]

In 1880, they lived in Brown, Ohio. Kilbourne Thrall, 70, was a (wood) joiner. His wife, Phoebe, was 68. Living nearby was their daughter, Octavia B. Scott, her husband, and their three children. [5]

Phebe Thrall died, aged 73, on 14 October 1887 in Brown Township, Delaware, Ohio. Cause of death was asthma. Phebe was born about 1814, was married, and had resided in Brown Township. [6]

Phoebe Thurston married William Kilbourne Thrall. They had a daughter, Octavia, born in 1841. Phoebe is buried with her husband, daughter, and other family at Greene Mound Cemetery, Kilbourne, Delaware, Ohio. [7]
