Samuel was born July 7, 1727.[1] He married Priscilla Burpee (Burkbee) on April 18, 1751 in Rowley, Massachusetts[2]. A FAG entry notes that Samuell '[e]nlisted from Lancaster, April, 1775; was sergeant in Capt. Jos. White's company in Col. John Whitcomb's regiment. Service at Cambridge under Artemus Ward. Member of the committee of safety and correspondence; member of town committee for hiring soldiers for Continental army. - Reference: Marvin's Hist, of Lancaster, Mass., and Mass. Rev. Archives." Samuel died March 26, 1806 and is buried in Lancaster, Mass.[3]
