Ebenezer Thurston of NY, m. 1791, Eunice KELSEY. They moved to Eaton, PA, in 1815, where he was a farmer & teacher. Eunice died there in 1834. Ebenezer died a few years later at his daughter's home in Towanda, PA. Themselves Baptists, their children were all either.

Baptists or Methodists. "An industrious, thrifty family, the daughters each had the wheel and loom soon after they were married." Children:

1. Margaret, "tall, slim, dark complexion," m. NY, John WILSON, rem. Eaton abt. 1814-5, m. (2) William HALL, d. abt 1849.

2. Dorcas, b. 16 Feb 1794, m. NY, William HALL, farmer Towanda, PA, where she died.

3. Anna, b. 16 Feb 1794 (twin), "dark complexion, slim form," m. (1) Roxbury, NY, 1 Sep 1814, Isaac BIRDSILL, chair maker & wheelwright.

They moved to Eaton, IN [sic] & 1833, Sherman, OH, where Isaac d. 1836. Anna moved to Galena, OH, 1837, m. (2) 1859, John SMOTHERS, farmer, Genoa, OH. He d. there 1868. Anna moved to daughter Electra Birdsill's home in Bryan, OH, & d. there 31 Mar 1877.

4. Hannah, m. Eaton, PA, 1816, George LEGER, a farmer near Philadelphia.

5. Victorina, "dark complexion" m., Eaton, 1827, Isaac GARRISON ( Garrison-3261), farmer in PA; d. Franklin Co., OH, 1843.

6. Electa, d. age 9.

7. Eliza, her twin, m. Eaton, 1834, James MEAD, farmer, d. Lucas Co., OH.

8. Azor, b. 22 Feb 1799, m. Elebedy SMITH.

9. Ebenezer, b. 1801, m. Hannah ALBROUGH.

10. Lyman, "tall, slim, dark complexion," farmer & basket maker hear Kingston, PA, m. Amy ALBRO, d. Towanda, PA.

11. Hermes, "light complexion, medium height," farmer, d. Margaretta Twp., Erie, OH 1843, unm. 1

I'm assuming you're interested in Ebenezer's ancestry. He was the son of Cyrus THURSTON & Mary Ann GUERNSEY (Guernsey-178) of NY. He served in the American Revolution as a captain in the Minutemen. Three sons:

1. Ebenezer, above.

2. Israel, m., "went to OH in search of a farm & never returned; supposed to have been killed by Indians.".

3. Daniel [no information]. 1

Cyrus was the 5th child (all boys) of Daniel THURSTON [the most popular family name], believed to have settled on the Hudson River in Newburg, NY, & to have signed a petition for land in 1751 (See "History of NY, Vol. 3, p. 257). [Mary Ann Guernsey - Guernsey-178 .]. 1

Daniel THURSTON, above, b. before 1700, 1st child of Daniel THURSTON of Long Island. See next. 1 THURSTON, b. Jamaica, Long Island, NY. Granted land 13 Nov 1699, by town of Hempstead, Long Island,, on condition that he settle there as a blacksmith. He remained. No wife mentioned. Two daughters after Daniel, above. 1

Joseph THURSTON, chr. 15 Jul 1640, Dedham, MA, m. Anne UNKNOWN. Will written 9 Jul 1688, proved 21 May 1691. Wife's will written 28 Apr 1715 (all children still living), proved 31 Jan 1721. Joseph was a farmer & Presbyterian in Jamaica, Long Island, NY. They had 8 children. He was the son of: 1

John THURSTON [our mutual ancestor], carpenter, Wrentham, Suffolk, Eng, chr. 13 Jan 1601. 10 May 1637, John, age 36, & wife Margaret UNKNOWN [some suppose it to be BUCK], sailed on the "Mary Anne" of Yarmouth, Eng., with their 2 oldest sons. She was received into the Dedham church 28 Jun 1640, he 28 Mar 1641. He became a freeman 10 May 1643. He had a land grant in the part of Dedham that became Medfield (1651) in 16 Feb 1643. All his family, except Joseph above, settled in either Medfield or nearby Wrentham. Margaret d. 9 May 1662, John 1 Nov 1685, Medfield. His will was dated 13 Jun 1683 and proved 21 Oct 1686. They had 8 children. 1
