Daniel Thurston, son of Stephen and Mary (Knight) Thurston, born 27 Aug 1714,^[2] baptized 05 Sep 1714,^[2] died 16 Feb 1737;^[2] married Mary Unknown, died probably before 10 Jun 1782 (when her second husband Richard Whitcher or Whittier, signing alone, sells property).^[3]

Death: about 1746-11, At Sea, Thurston, Daniel, of Capt. Perkin's Co., of York Co., Me, drowned in the wreak of a sloop, Capt. Donald, on Duck Island near Mount Desert, while on the way to garrison the fort at Annapolis Royal, N.S., Nov., 1746. News-Let.^[9]
Estate-Inventory: 1747-01-01, Taken by Nathan Bartlett, Richard Chick, and William Gowen at £102-7-0 including £16 cash from "Capt. Perkins being the Dec'sd wages in part".^[7]
EstateAdmn: 1747-01-04, Kittery, York, Maine, Daniel Thurston of Kittery died intestate and his widow Mary was appointed to administer with Tobias Leighton and John Morrell, Jr., as sureties.^[7]
Note: "Thurston Genealogies", by Brown Thurston, lists a Daniel, son of Stephen2 and Mary Thurston of Stratham, born 27 Aug. 1714, who appears to be of the correct age & location to be the husband of Mary, & father of John & Daniel, inspite stating he died 1737^[7][2]
