Biography

James Tibbetts was born in Staffordshire, England.

James Tibbetts born ^[1] in 1732 in Stafford, England. Son of Robert Tibbits and Prudence Adams Brother of Ann Tibbits and Richard Tippits

According to his marriage registration^[2] he was a butcher age 21 when he married Anne Woods on 2nd November 1755 in the small village of Croxden, ^[3] probably at St Giles Church ^[4] not far from Alton Towers Staffordshire, England. They had seven children Mary, Richard, Thomas, Samuel, George, Jarvis and Richard Tibbitts

Burial records show that at least two of their sons Richard^[5] age 11 and Thomas^[6] age 5 died whilst young

The time of James' death is difficult to establish as many spellings^[7] are used for his surname and it is unlikely that he died in 1832 (age would be 100 and no sources found for this date ) as previously entered although Staffordshire, England is probably correct and a James Tibbatts died in 1782 age 50 in Bilston Staffordshire.

Research Notes

• Death records were not found for Tibbets but there is one for Tibbatts Death Registration on FamilySearch.org and whilst freereg.org.uk had several sources these could not be easily verified as this James Tibbetts (no entries found for 1832)
