Richard B. "Burn" Tibbetts was born in about 1878, possibly in Rhode Island and was the son of Frederick M. Tibbetts and Sylphia Ann (Potter) Tibbetts. He lived in Salem Connecticut on what is now (in 2017) Rattlesnake Ledge Road in a house that his father had built c. 1878.
Burn Tibbetts was the treasurer of the Salem Grange for 40 years. He died on January 24, 1972 at the age of 94 in Norwich, Connecticut.
He was buried at the Wesley Brown Cemetery in Salem, Connecticut
